My DH gave me some lovely roses for our 27th anniversary...he is so thoughtful!

Mom at seven or eight

Left to right= her cousin, sister, brother, cousin and Mom. Mom has some interesting stories to tell of growing up in Oklahoma. Stories about the Depression and the dust storms and much more. Maybe I can get her to write some things down that I can share here.

Crochet butterly

Mom crocheted this butterfly for me years ago. It's about 6 1/2 inches wide. I had it in a drawer but I am trying to think of a way to display it, maybe I could frame it.

A blog with paintings

I just came across a blog that has paintings of women who are doing various types of needlework and thought some of you might find it interesting. Is the lady tatting in the Louis Tocque painting, and is the lady doing bobbin lace in the Vermeer painting?

This card was sent to Mom in 1925 from her cousin Kenneth, the scrap of Love ribbon I saved from the 1960's, and the key...who knows....Happy Valentine's Day to family and friends

Old family photos

That's my mom's mom on the left (Grandma Briggs) and two of her sisters. I think this picture is so sweet. Look at their lovely hair and those dresses. I don't have the year of the photo, but Grandma Briggs was born in 1903 and she looks to be maybe 5 years old.

Crafty tip

I just wanted to mention the coupons that A C Moore and Michaels Arts and Crafts have most weeks. A C Moore has a printable coupon online and in newspaper inserts. But I couldn't find that Michaels has an online coupon. A C Moore has a 50% off a regular price item coupon this week. And our local Moore's and Michael's will honor each others coupons. I used a 50% off A C Moore coupon at Michael's yesterday. I bought a nice book on watercolors with a coupon, and as I mentioned before you can use the coupons on magazines too.
