I don't think I posted a photo of this project I did as a fair entry last October. I had the most fun creating this Fairy House out of a wooden tea box and various other items. But, alas, it did not win a ribbon at all. Here it is under construction, I'm a messy crafter!

Things I've been working on
Made a tiny crochet teddy bear
Made two doll size miniature afghans, one on the right is a ripple pattern, (that is a Barbie doll sofa they are on)
Made these felt Christmas fawn ornaments for family, friends, and co workers (also made the felt dog for myself). I got the inspirations for these online, (http://myfelt-carla.blogspot.com.br/)
Made this little crochet Christmas mouse from pattern by Sharon Ojala,
This is a project I entered in the fair last fall and won first place. The theme was "My Favorite Fair Scene" and I chose exhibits. I did this in miniature, I made everyting except the scrapbook pictures of pumpkins and sun flowers, I even made the baskets. The height of the side of the frame is about 14 inches. So even though I haven't posted often I have been creating!

Maybe next year
I only entered four things in our fair this year, but three of those did well, 2 first places and one second place. I didn't get my little room finished so I will save it for next years fair.
My crocheted doily got a first place blue ribbon. It is "Flying Comet" pattern from a 1949 book.

Entries for the fair
I love this girl's room by designer Robyn Karp, so much so that I want to make a miniature diorama of this room for a fair entry. I have been working on it, but it is slow going since I've never done miniatures like this before. I have the headboard done after several failed attempts!
The bedskirt is not exactly right yet, so have more to do on it, I think the mattress is done.
This little thrift store doll Lissy thinks I'm making this room for her, so she is keenly watching my progress. I'm not going to tell her I'm really making it for an entry in the fair. This photo of the bed is just to show how it will "sort of" look, it is not finished at all! Stay tuned, I will post more photos as I progress.

The fair opened

I got my fair entry results and was pleased with most of the wins. My pink Scottie dog got a blue, the sewn Barbie cape and pants got a blue, my blue doily got a blue, the small white doily got a blue, Snow bunny got a red, and the white crochet Barbie dress got a blue! I will post some more photos later AND show what didn't win a thing...LOL!

Fair entries

Here's one of my fair entries, for the crochet animal or toy category. I found this Snow Bunny pattern for free on Ravelry. I added a fluffy pom pom for the tail, a little pink chalk inside the ears and on the cheeks, and I added a little green basket for it to sit in. Turned in my entries on Wed and should find out Frinday how I did! (Mom is doing much better since her fall, although she still is in bed most of the day, it will take some time for the fractures to heal.)

Not a success...
I'm entering a catagory in our local fair for doll clothes and I wanted some pretty shoes for a Barbie doll. I don't want to pay a fortune for the shoes and I don't like the plastic ones I have so I attempted to make shoes....but I wasn't successful. Barbie's foot is so darn small and she has no toes to speak of, and the shoes won't fit. And they don't look so good anyway. Oh well, I tried!

Time for the Fair!

The fair is here
Judges choice afghan winner.............
Rows of knitted and crocheted afghans.........
See the pink and white potholder on middle row? That's one of my entries. It didn't win.
This was the Senior small crochet item category(yes, I'm old enough to enter the senior
category..LOL)
Blue Ribbon! I have never ever entered anything in the fair before so
I was happily surprised! I had crocheted this potholder once and really
liked it so I made another especially for the fair entry. I still think when
I go to pick it up, they will tell me there was a mistake and I didn't win!
