Good Deals!

These old ads show some of the dishes I found at Goodwill by the pound. I love these old style dishes.

I love to go to Goodwill by the pound, and glassware is on special 39 cents a pound. My big find of the day were 15 pieces of the china pattern we have, Mikasa French Countryside for $6.50!

I also found 2 old crochet doily books for about 20 cents each.......

The two sweet little saucers on the left are unmarked, but the pink saucers are Pink Radiance pattern by Homer Laughlin...these four cost 59 cents.....I don't know what I am going to do with them but I had to "save them" from an unknown fate!

This plate is "Ever Yours" Boutonniere by Taylor-Smith-Taylor.....and the 4 cups and saucers are "Golden Wheat" pattern. Golden Wheat dishes were given away in laundry detergent boxes, the Duz brand shown in the old ad earlier. No maker is shown but it is strongly thought that it was made by Homer Laughlin company. .....The plate and cups and saucers were $1.95.
This cute bowl is Zrike Everyday, Spring Blush pattern only 25 cents!
I have to stop going to Goodwill, I've run out of space!

Have you seen this?

I found this neat potholder pattern on ravelry...it is very functional and the technique or stitch makes it so thick you don't have to make two layers. The free pattern is on= blogs.the tucker.com, under her crochet section. And look at the crochet book I found at Dollar Tree! I have been admiring these patterns online. They are large hotpads or just for decoration, very unusual patterns.

Doily

I finished this doily, need to block. The color is actually a pretty light blue. I'm still looking for the perfect pattern to enter in the fair this year. I have more to post, trying to catch up because I was without a computer for so long! This pattern was from Crochet Decorative Magazine #43, by Gisela Maier, don't know the year. Used Cebelia #20 Sea Mist Blue and a #10 hook.
