Not a success...

I'm entering a catagory in our local fair for doll clothes and I wanted some pretty shoes for a Barbie doll. I don't want to pay a fortune for the shoes and I don't like the plastic ones I have so I attempted to make shoes....but I wasn't successful. Barbie's foot is so darn small and she has no toes to speak of, and the shoes won't fit. And they don't look so good anyway. Oh well, I tried!

Finished!

I finally finished this table hotpad (this photo was taken before the final black edging was added).

Happy 4th of July!

I've started a new project (even though I have several others in the works!), this table hot pad is from the Leisure Arts book I found at Dollar Tree. It has a back so it is thick, and the book shows other uses like the pillow shown.

Good Deals!

These old ads show some of the dishes I found at Goodwill by the pound. I love these old style dishes.

I love to go to Goodwill by the pound, and glassware is on special 39 cents a pound. My big find of the day were 15 pieces of the china pattern we have, Mikasa French Countryside for $6.50!

I also found 2 old crochet doily books for about 20 cents each.......

The two sweet little saucers on the left are unmarked, but the pink saucers are Pink Radiance pattern by Homer Laughlin...these four cost 59 cents.....I don't know what I am going to do with them but I had to "save them" from an unknown fate!

This plate is "Ever Yours" Boutonniere by Taylor-Smith-Taylor.....and the 4 cups and saucers are "Golden Wheat" pattern. Golden Wheat dishes were given away in laundry detergent boxes, the Duz brand shown in the old ad earlier. No maker is shown but it is strongly thought that it was made by Homer Laughlin company. .....The plate and cups and saucers were $1.95.
This cute bowl is Zrike Everyday, Spring Blush pattern only 25 cents!
I have to stop going to Goodwill, I've run out of space!
