Mom's treasures

Grandma Briggs was visiting from OK and teaching Mom how to make a Cathedral quilt. They bought this fabric for the quilt in 1978. Can you see those prices? 69 cents a yard!
So Grandma Briggs made this sample for Mom to go by. The old paper bag is from a store in Guthrie, OK. that is no longer open, I think. Mom saves old paper bags for the memories.(doesn't everyone?)

This quilt block was made by Mom's Aunt Zoe..year unknown. But no later than 1960's. It is supposed to be a turtle. It's always fun to go through Mom's closet. Just when I think I have seen everything something new turns up! Mom has quite a few unfinished projects (doesn't everyone?)

What a beautiful quilt. It is hard to believe that in the 70's everything was cheap. I also love the pink dresses. Hugs, Rosemarie
